UCD Dataverse is now live. The University College Dublin (UCD) implemented, with 4Science’s support, a new Dataverse instance through our AWS hosting services. After years of productive collaboration between UCD and 4Science for the DSpace-CRIS platform, the support has been extended also to a new Dataverse solution.
Beyond DSpace
The 4Science’s support goes beyond the DSpace community. We are actively engaged in many projects for open data and open science (OpenAire, EuroCRIS, EOSC, OpenAlex, etc) making sure that we can support institutions in the best way. UCD needed a reliable solution to support the data repository of the Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA). ISSDA is Ireland’s leading centre for quantitative data acquisition, preservation, and dissemination. Based at UCD Library, its mission is to ensure access to quantitative datasets in the social sciences. And to advance the promotion of international comparative studies of the Irish economy and Irish society. To fulfil this important national mission, UCD chose Dataverse, the open-source solution created by the ISS at Harvard University. And to partner with 4Science to support the implementation, hosting and maintenance of the data platform.
This exciting project is a great example of an institution that clearly understood its needs and decided to find an integrated solution that is future proof.
We are very happy to have supported this prestigious institution expanding our collaboration and we hope to do the same with many others.
The future is here and is more interactive and integrated than ever before.
Anticipate your needs to enjoy a long-term stable future for your Open-Source infrastructure.
