4Science at the Praxistreffen conference the German DSpace User Group, on March 27-28 in Bamberg, Germany. Every year, we have the excellent opportunity to be part of this event and share many great ideas for the future of DSpace and the next steps the community needs to take.
The workshop
Andrea Bollini (CTIO) and Simone Tarli (project manager) attended the conference and presented a Workshop on DSpace-CRIS and DSpace-GLAM. The workshop was a success: Andrea and Simone presented in detail the history of DSpace-CRIS and all the new and updated live instances around the world, mentioning the work done on maintenance, bug fixing, and new features. There was also time for a detailed platform demo showcasing the many great features and improvements.
The panel Discussion
During the conference, there was also a beneficial and productive panel session about the possible merger between DSpace and DSpace-CRIS. You can watch the discussion here (https://www.youtube.com/live/IWtqKT6Uq1c?si=K1OlP2oAWScVKf6a&t=3540) starting from minute 59:00.
The discussion, with questions from the audience, helped to answer many questions regarding this topic. We highly suggest watching the video, as it could be very beneficial for your strategy and the future of the DSpace community.
