What is Dataverse?

4Science offers Dataverse among its research services. The Dataverse Project is developed by the Dataverse Team of the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS) at Harvard University and is an open source web application for sharing, preserving, citing, exploring, and analyzing research data:

  • preserves Datasets, makes them more discoverable and compliant with Data Management Plans
  • allows stable and lasting links between a publication and associated datasets through the adoption of Persistent identifiers (for example, DOI, or Handle)
  • provides an environment where the researcher can safely analyze, collaborate and share their data in any format (GIS, Tabular, etc.)
  • links to the pages of researchers, departments and projects and displays the various dataverses.
