DSpace 7.5, the latest major release of the world’s most popular open-source repository software, is now available, and we are proud to have contributed significantly to this release with our expertise and experience!
As a leading provider of digital repositories and preservation solutions, 4Science has been an active participant in the DSpace community for many years, and we are excited to see the platform continue to evolve with each new release.
One of the significant contributions we made to the DSpace 7.5 release is the feature of “Subscribe to email updates from a community or Collection,” which we have ported from the DSpace-CRIS project. This feature allows users to receive email notifications when new items are added to a particular collection or community, making it easier for them to stay up to date with the latest content.
In addition to this feature, we have made several other contributions to DSpace 7.5, including the implementation of new plugins, the development of new REST APIs, and the enhancement of existing features.
We are particularly excited about the continued improvements made to the user interface, which has been designed to make it easier for users to navigate and interact with the platform. Other new features include the ability to ingest external metadata, improvements to the search functionality, and better integration with ORCID and other PIDs.
As a proud member of the DSpace community, we are thrilled to have contributed to the development of DSpace 7.5, and we look forward to supporting the community with our expertise and experience.
Overall, we are proud to be part of the continuous improvements in the DSpace platform, and we are committed to helping institutions of all sizes and sectors to leverage the power of digital repositories for research and scholarship. Congratulations to the DSpace team and the wider community on this major release! Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible!
