Today, in Brasilia, the 3-day workshop on Research Information Systems begins, hosted by the Brazilian Institute of Technology and Science Information (IBICT) and supported by UNESCO.
IBICT wants to develop a national scale project (similar to the Portuguese PTCRIS) to create a countrywide system capable of collecting research information from all the universities, research centers and federal and state funding agencies.
They are looking at DSpace-CRIS as a crucial component of the platform: Andrea Bollini from 4Science will explain how the unique features of DSpace-CRIS make it a perfect choice in such scenario. In addition, in the last workshop day, a technical tutorial on DSpace-CRIS will be held to facilitate the involvement of more Brazilian repository developers and managers in the DSpace-CRIS growing community.
